Venice International Art Fair 2026

Exhibited as part of the 24th edition of the Venice International Art Fair, presented by ITSLIQUID Group in collaboration with ACIT Venice.

Deer Logic was exhibited as part of the Venice International Art Fair 2026 at Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello, presented by ITSLIQUID Group. Positioned within an international programme of contemporary artists, the work enters into dialogue with both historical space and modern psychological experience.

The piece centres on a crouched female figure in a moment of suspended response, neither fleeing nor resisting, but held in stillness. She raises antlers to her own head in a gesture that hovers between adornment and imposition, as if attempting to recognise herself within the role of the hunted.

Drawing from the instinctive “freeze” response, Deer Logic reflects on the body’s reaction to threat — the moment in which movement becomes impossible. The work examines this stillness not as passivity, but as a complex, embodied survival mechanism, shaped by fear, conditioning, and the need to endure.

The act of becoming the deer is not transformation, but an attempt at understanding — a way of making sense of silence, of remaining, of not running. In this, the body becomes both witness and subject, negotiating the tension between instinct and expectation.
