Preburn (Original)
Exhibited & Shortlisted for the Supanee Gazeley Fine Art Prize (2025)
“Preburn” (2025) captures the moment before the fire — the ritual, the theatre, the practiced cruelty of those who dress violence as tradition. A woman stands with arms bound above her head while a group calmly prepares her gown. She is centered, crowned, composed. They are focused. It’s not punishment. It’s procedure.
Printed directly onto raw wood, the piece takes on a haunting warmth, as the natural grain seeps through the shadows and firelight. The soft chiaroscuro and classical composition disguise the horror in beauty — making it all the more chilling.
This piece was exhibited and shortlisted for the Supanee Gazeley Fine Art Prize, and exists as a one-of-a-kind original. No reprints will be made.
